Senior Full Stack Engineer – AI-Enabled Development

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable web applications and integrations. The role combines modern frontend engineering with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, backend development using C# and .NET, and cloud delivery on Microsoft Azure.

The successful candidate will own features end to end, contribute to architecture and engineering standards, and deliver production-ready software in a regulated or compliance-oriented environment. They will also use spec-driven development and AI coding agents—such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable tools—to accelerate the software development lifecycle while maintaining code quality, security, and maintainability.

The engineer will help build AI-enabled products and workflows, including applications that integrate large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Application Development

• Build and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using C#, ASP.NET, .NET, and Web API.
• Develop integrations that support business workflows, including payroll, tax, and immigration-related processes.
• Apply sound API design, authentication and authorization patterns, separation of concerns, and established design principles.
• Diagnose and improve application performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.

Cloud Engineering and Architecture

• Build and operate cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS services and related platform capabilities.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and pragmatic technology decisions.
• Implement REST-based integrations and event-driven or asynchronous processing patterns where appropriate.
• Apply secure identity, networking, configuration, and deployment practices.
• Support CI/CD automation and reliable release processes.

AI-Enabled and Agentic Development

• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools for design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
• Follow a spec-driven development workflow: turn requirements into clear, testable specifications before implementation and use those specifications to guide human and AI-assisted work.
• Review, test, and validate AI-generated code before it is accepted into production.
• Design and implement AI-enabled application features using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and AI-assisted workflows as appropriate.
• Evaluate AI APIs, models, and orchestration tools with attention to responsible use, privacy, security, cost control, and observability.

Security, Quality, and Operations

• Apply secure software development practices suitable for privacy-sensitive and compliance-oriented environments.
• Design for auditability, data protection, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
• Write and maintain automated tests; contribute to TDD/BDD practices and quality gates.
• Own production readiness for delivered features, including logging, monitoring, alerting, operational documentation, and incident support.
• Identify and resolve security, performance, and reliability issues proactively.

Collaboration and Technical Leadership

• Work with product, implementation, and client-facing teams to translate requirements into technical plans and deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews, pairing, design discussions, and technical planning.
• Mentor and support engineers by sharing knowledge and promoting consistent engineering standards.
• Communicate progress, risks, trade-offs, and dependencies clearly.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise web applications and services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js and/or React, TypeScript, state management, and frontend performance optimization.
• Strong backend development experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Web API, and/or MVC.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating solutions on Microsoft Azure, particularly PaaS services and operational tooling.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-oriented environments, with an understanding of security controls, privacy, auditability, and data handling.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, design patterns, separation of concerns, scalable architecture, and engineering trade-offs.
• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development workflows, including spec-driven development and tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalents.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into products, such as prompt design, LLM API integration, or AI-augmented user experiences.
• Ability to take ownership of features from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure and/or Microsoft technical certifications.
• Experience with distributed systems, messaging, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous workflows.
• Experience with SQL Server, relational data modeling, ORMs such as Entity Framework, and caching strategies.
• Strong testing practices, including TDD/BDD, xUnit, Jest or Mocha, CI/CD automation, and automated quality gates.
• Experience with analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with iOS and Android ecosystems and APIs that support mobile applications.
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, or AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or Azure AI Services.
• Experience building AI-augmented internal tools, developer tooling, or intelligent automation for engineering workflows.
• Experience evaluating and refining AI-generated code for production use.

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Role Summary

This role is suited to a senior engineer who combines strong full stack development skills with Azure experience and a practical approach to AI-enabled software delivery. The candidate should be comfortable owning production software, making sound technical decisions, and using AI tools as engineering accelerators—not as a substitute for sound engineering judgment.
