Full Stack Developer – React.js & Node.js

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on expertise in React.js, Node.js, NestJS, and modern database technologies to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.

The ideal candidate will have 7–11 years of full stack development experience, a strong understanding of frontend and backend engineering, and practical experience delivering production-grade applications using RESTful APIs, microservices, automated testing, and CI/CD practices. You will collaborate with product, design, QA, DevOps, and technology teams to deliver reliable solutions and integrate systems across the business.

This role requires a proactive engineer who can take ownership of features end to end, contribute to technical decisions, and communicate effectively with internal teams and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React.js.
• Build reusable, modular, and maintainable UI components using modern frontend development practices.
• Translate UI/UX designs and product requirements into accessible, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services, REST APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Manage application state, routing, form validation, and asynchronous interactions using appropriate React ecosystem tools.
• Identify and resolve frontend performance issues to improve loading speed, responsiveness, and user experience.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and other developers to maintain consistent design and implementation standards.

Backend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
• Build well-structured, scalable RESTful APIs with appropriate validation, error handling, logging, and documentation.
• Apply sound software design principles, modular architecture, and reusable service patterns.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external systems securely and reliably.
• Implement business logic, data-access layers, and service integrations based on functional and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve backend defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

Database Design and Integration

• Design and maintain data models, schemas, queries, and indexes for MongoDB and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Select suitable data structures and database access patterns based on application requirements.
• Optimise queries and database interactions for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Ensure data consistency, validation, and appropriate handling of transactions where applicable.
• Support data exchange and integration between internal applications, partner platforms, and third-party systems.

Architecture and Scalability

• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable application architectures, including microservices-based systems where appropriate.
• Apply sound principles for API contracts, service boundaries, configuration, error handling, and resilience.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs involving maintainability, performance, scalability, and delivery timelines.
• Identify opportunities to simplify existing systems, reduce technical debt, and improve application reliability.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on design reviews and implementation standards.

Testing and Code Quality

• Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Develop and maintain unit tests and contribute to integration and end-to-end testing.
• Use suitable testing tools for React, Node.js, and NestJS applications.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Debug issues across the frontend, backend, APIs, and database layers.
• Follow secure coding practices and established engineering standards.

CI/CD, Deployment, and Operations

• Use Git for source control and collaborative development workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and deployment processes.
• Work with DevOps teams to support reliable releases across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Follow environment configuration and secrets-management practices.
• Support application monitoring, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
• Work with Docker and containerised application environments where required.

Collaboration and System Integration

• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, DevOps, and other technology teams in an Agile environment.
• Engage directly with strategic partners and internal technology teams on system integration, API contracts, and data exchange requirements.
• Clarify requirements, communicate technical dependencies, and identify integration risks early.
• Contribute to technical discussions, estimation, sprint planning, and delivery reviews.
• Document API behaviour, architecture decisions, integration workflows, and relevant operational procedures.
• Take ownership of assigned work and provide clear updates on progress, blockers, and delivery risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 7–11 years of professional experience in full stack software development.
• React.js: Strong hands-on experience building production-ready web applications and reusable frontend components.
• Node.js: Strong proficiency in server-side JavaScript and backend application development.
• NestJS: Practical experience designing modular backend applications, services, controllers, providers, and REST APIs using NestJS.
• REST API Development: Experience designing, implementing, documenting, integrating, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Database Technologies: Hands-on experience with MongoDB and working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Microservices: Understanding of microservices architecture, service integration, and distributed application design.
• Git: Familiarity with branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative source control.
• CI/CD: Understanding of automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks and a commitment to automated quality checks.
